Dear Mr. Agape…

I got an email yesterday that quite literally will change my life. It was something like this:

Dear Mr. Agape,

You have applied for a study place for the master’s degree programme Information and Computer Engineering at Graz University of Technology.  Your application has been reviewed and assessed by the selection committee and you have achieved 20 points. We are happy to announce that your study place is confirmed.

This sentence right here almost gave me a heart attack. When I saw it for the first time I was like Robert de Niro “Wait, what? You talking to me? Seriously? Oh my God, Yes!!!!!!!!!!”. Probably my neighbor heard that, but I simply don’t care. 😀

Yes guys, I did it! Yes!! My dream has come true at last. The thing that I dreamed about since I was in high school is closer than ever, and I just can’t wrap my head around it. It’s so unbelievable that this is happening to me. I’m so happy and so motivated by this, I feel like I can do anything right now. The single thing that is left for me to do is to finish my Bachelor degree, and then go and pursue my dreams and see what my future has to offer. And Graz is such an amazingly beautiful city, right in the heart of Europe and right beside the Alps. So many things to do and explore there. I literally can’t wait to get there and have a fresh start, meet new people, get inspired, travel, study my a** off, work, and learn German language. I’m so anxious!

You probably wonder why 20 points. Well, I don’t really understand it either, but they say it on the website that the selection committee will give a maximum of 25 points to a student, based on the grades, the letter of motivation and the IELTS results. I got 20/25, so it has to be good, right? 😀

But this email doesn’t automatically mean that I will be admitted there, because I have to give them my degree diploma and all the other documents, but I think it’s just a formality. It does mean, of course that I have to actually finish my degree, haha!!

I got a lot of messages lately, people wishing me good luck. Thank you, people! You are awesome!

Okay, that’s all I have to tell you. I’m so happy for what has happened, you guys cannot imagine. Back to work on graduation project now!
